Tradition in Coffee cultivation

Perched on the slope of Mantiqueira Mountains in São Paulo State, Caconde is a city of 20,000 inhabitants, located right on the border between São Paulo and Minas Gerais states. Born in the gold rush in the mid-18th century, its mountains already predicted the region's vocation for the coffee culture, which for several generations has been the basis of the city's economy. Stunning landscapes, which mix the mountains of Mantiqueira with the Graminha Reservoir and the Pardo River, clearly show the predominance of coffee cultivation, at altitudes ranging from 800 to 1,400 meters above sea level. In recent years, the Municipality of Caconde has alternated between the first and second place in coffee production volume in the State of São Paulo.
